Legendary TV actor Boikie Pholo is entangled in a real-life drama due to a payment squable between a Soweto model and a Pretoria-based modeling agency owner.

Pholo, who shot to fame in the 1980s as Raitlhwana in the horror series Lesilo Rula, is the subject of a R5000 debt after meeting the model at a party organised by agency owner Lerato Makgatho.

News of Pholo's involvement in the fight over money was revealed by one of Makgatho's models, who said she wanted to expose her boss for often double crossing them.

The source, who did not want to be named for fear of victimisation, said one of her colleagues had a catfight with Makgatho a month ago in which the model bit her boss in the face.

Asked to prove her allegations, the source showed Sunday World a video in which Pholo is seen dancing with the model and produced pictures in which Pholo is kissing the Soweto woman.

"The agency owner's face is bruised after she was bitten by the girl who confronted her at her office in Wonderpark [Pretoria]. It happened on a Tuesday.

"After the fight their relationship turned sour. Lerato then fired the model after she had promised to pay her the money she was demanding," said the source.

The source claimed Makgatho was running a dating agency disguised as a modelling business.

When contacted for comment, the model said: "I have nothing to say about my personal life."

Pholo, who appears on SABC2 sitcom Ga Re Dumele, confirmed that he knows Makgatho and the model.

He said Makgatho was his friend and that he was introduced to the model, a friendship ensued and thereafter Makgatho invited both of them to her parties.

But after one of the parties, the model allegedly demanded R5000 from her boss for keeping Pholo company.

Pholo said he knew nothing about the R5000 and never paid any money for the model's companionship.

"I don't have that money. Besides, I wouldn't do anything like that. I am not that kind of person," he said.

Asked about his relationship with the model and why he appeared topless in one of the photos with her, he said: "As friends I did not mind taking off my top in front of her because it was hot."

When asked about the kissing, Pholo said: "We were playing a kissing game."
How blessing business unfolds

"Girls working at the agency meet celebrities but she (agency owner) does not pay well. The girls only benefit during private parties of blessers.

"Girls pay their varsity fees through blessers, who pay them directly. They join her modelling agency but later are secretly introduced to the other world of blessers and blessees.

"Most celebrities and business guys do bookings at the agency and the girls are the ones benefiting more [because] she only takes 30%, which is not enough for her, so she ends up cheating the girls of their money.

"Most girls are unhappy. They leave as soon as they get serious full-time blessers but for us who only get bookings for weekends away and one-day jobs, we stay."
Agency owner ties herself in knots over claim

When approached for comment, the agency owner initially denied knowing both Pholo and the model.

"I don't know anything about that, I don't know what you are talking about," she said before hanging up.

Last Friday she changed her tune, sending a barrage of SMSes.

"I organise events, if blessers and blesses (sic) end up together (it) is not my problem. I know about the model (name removed) & Boikie pholo's relationship but I am not the one who organised that.

"The model (name withheld) his (sic) just bitter because their relationship ended bad.money problems. struggling to find copy of their whatapp conversations.but I will check and email that in the morning (last Saturday).

"I am innocent. The model (name withheld) fought with me about money that I cannot discuss with the media. I emailed the video of the day you mentioned about their passionate kiss. I was there as a friend not as a agent (sic)."

When pressed about the money owed, she said: "Boikie lost interest and stopped giving her money. She (the model) borrowed me the money to add on buying a car. She said it's from Boikie. I don't know.

"Please don't publish my picture. I told You all I can."

Last week Saturday, she SMSed again: "If tomorrow I see myself on the paper I will start talking to my lawyer. I don't deny their relationship. their visit. But me being an organizer that's rubbish."
