Following an Instagram snapshot that was met with a viral frenzy on Monday night, featuring AKA and his bae wearing matching Diesel Black Gold jackets ahead of the Kevin Hart show in Durban, AKA is firing back at the social media backlash.
In the lengthy note, the ‘Baddest’ hit-maker writes that he doesn’t care about what anyone says on social media and after he reads a comment he goes: “back to my wonderful life of matching designer jackets, a woman I love, travel and living the dream".

"I used to get offended by what people said to me on social media in the past… until I realized that comments are free, it costs nothing to be mean, and that people say horrible things to empower themselves and make themselves feel better about what's going on with their own esteem and in their own lives.I've said it before, I am a private person, and when my previous relationship was unraveling in front of the world, I was attacked viciously that it got to a point where I became numb to what people had to say… Which was quite liberating. Now I encourage all forms of communication from the public… Love, hate, appreciation, jealousy, everything… It's part of the game and it's what I have to deal with because of my position in the spotlight. Let me put it to you like this… It's ok, I understand now because… When you leave a comment, I read it and go back to my wonderful life of matching designer jackets, a woman I love, travel and living my dream… While you go back to a life of selling online waist trainers [sic]"
Furthermore, in another comment AKA fires back at a fan who suggested that he was hiding the identity of his bae:
“You know who it is don’t you? So who’s hiding? Maybe I wanted you to see the sick design on that R7000 jacket.”
AKA has for last few months, after his much-publicized breakup from baby mama DJ Zinhle, been romantically linked to TV/radio personality Bonang Matheba, although neither has ever confirmed the relationship.
Moreover, Bonang took to the comment section too to get in on the action, jokingly stating:
